March 2012 fishing report
Brick Farm Lakes Senior Troutmasters 2011/12 fish-off final was won by Peter Winder from Hove catching his 4 fish in 29 minutes and weighing in at 8lb 10oz. This is the third year in a row Peter has won this competition and he is looking forward to improving on the commendable 16th place in last years National Troutmasters final at Gratham Water.
Brick Farm Lakes also held its first ever Junior Troutmasters 2011/12 fish-off with over 15 juniors qualifying for entry. Our winner was Chloe Cook, age 12, from Hove who now gets invited to the National Junior Troutmasters 2011/12 Final at Stonebridge later in the year. Good luck Chloe.
Brick Farm Lakes is holding its first Open Day on Sunday 29th April 2012 from 10am-4pm in association with the Eastbourne & District Fly Fishers’ Club. Entry and parking are free and everyone is welcome. There is free “have-a-go” fishing (min 12 years) and free “have-a-go” archery as well as various demonstrations throughout the day, local craft stands and other rural attractions. So why not learn how to cast, tie a fly, gut & fillet a trout or simply see our new green oak frame lakeside lodge.
With British Summer Time and Spring both upon us, now is the time to consider some evening dry fly fishing. Brick Farm Lakes is open till sunset so why not drop in after work for an evening by the water.
