December 2011 fishing report
A new year brings a new lake as work starts on a third lake at Brick Farm, should be ready for next winter. Conditions continue to be good with catch rates around 90%. Flies working include Cats Whiskers, Damsels, Blobs and Montanas. Browns as well as rainbows being stocked through to Spring. The new lodge remains open throughout the winter with worm food and drink and the wood burner lit to thaw the hands by.
Recent rainbow catches include a 9lb by Daniel Blackford from Crowborough, a 7lb 2oz by Tony Saville from Ashford using a sink tip Cortland 6lb line with a Coopers Spider fly, a 4lb 2oz by J Fuller from Sedlescombe on a Montana and 3lb 4oz brown by Michael Catt from Heathfield on a Nomad 8.
